The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

DALLAS — Editor’s note: The Dallas Police Department originally reported the driver left the scene, rescinded that report, and has since gone back to their original reporting that the incident was a hit-and-run. This article has been updated to reflect the most updated information from DPD. 

Dallas police are investigating a hit-and-run Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to an accident call around 4:10 p.m. There, police found that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle. The driver drove off before officers arrived, according to the department.

DPD said Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded and took the victim to a local hospital in critical condition. 

Police said they are investigating the incident.
