A man has died after he and another man were shot on a property in northern New South Wales.
Emergency services were called to Eungella, west of Murwillumbah, shortly before 1:30pm on Wednesday.
Police have been told the two men, aged 41 and 38, were allegedly shot by another man, who attempted to flee the scene with a fourth man.
Paramedics treated the older man at the property for a gunshot wound but he died at the scene.
Police were then alerted to a second incident nearby after a 45-year-old man was allegedly hit by a car.
He is being treated in hospital under police guard.
The 38-year-old man who was shot sought treatment at hospital.
Police are now waiting to speak with those men to establish how they were both injured.
Police are also searching for the fourth person, believed to be aged 37, who they want to question.
Forensic teams were at the scene on Wednesday afternoon, including officers from the dog squad unit who were searching the property.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
