Winter break begins this month for hundreds of thousands of Fort Worth-area students.
Most traditional public school districts and charter networks start their holiday break on Dec. 19. Most return to classrooms the first full week of January.
A handful of districts and charter systems have early dismissal days on Dec. 19, while others begin their break the following Monday.
Here’s when students are scheduled to be off:
Dec. 19-Jan. 5
Dec. 19-Jan. 6
Dec. 22-Jan. 5
Dec. 22-Jan. 6
Some calendars list Dec. 19 as a teacher preparation day; some have staff development days on Jan. 5 or Jan. 6, meaning teachers may be back before students.
District offices and central services may operate on different schedules during the holiday. Families should check their school or campus for early release times and extracurricular activities leading up to the break.
