STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Select New York City streets will be closed on Saturday to accommodate two parades.
Roads in Brooklyn and Queens will be restricted to allow for the Santa Land 6th Annual Community Parade and the Parade on Rockaway to proceed free from vehicle traffic.
As noted in an advisory from the NYPD, the closures will be at the discretion of police.
Here’s a look at the upcoming road closures:
Saturday, Dec. 6Santa Land 6th Annual Community Parade in Brooklyn
Formation will be on Washington Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and Dean Street.
Route:
- Washington Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and Eastern Parkway
- Eastern Parkway between Washington Avenue and Plaza Street East
- Vanderbilt Avenue between Plaza Street East and Atlantic Avenue
- Atlantic Avenue between Vanderbilt Avenue and Flatbush Avenue
Dispersal will be on Atlantic Avenue between Fort Greene Place and Flatbush Avenue.
Parade on Rockaway (hosted by HOPENYC) in Queens
Formation will be on 130th Street between Foch Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard.
The route will run along Rockaway Boulevard between 130th Street and 143rd Street.
Dispersal will be at 143rd Street between Sutter Avenue and Rockaway Boulevard.
