One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting Saturday at Fort Worth’s Hulen Mall, Fort Worth Fire Department said in an email on Saturday.

Fort Worth police are investigating the shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon in the 4700 block of South Hulen Street, according to a social media post.

At about 2 p.m., officers were called to the scene, and on arriving, they were directed to a grassy area outside the mall between Macy’s and Red Robin, where they found a man with a gunshot wound to one of his legs, according to a news release from Fort Worth police.

Police said an off-duty officer from an outside agency was already with the victim, along with an off-duty emergency medical personnel.

Minutes later, the Fort Worth fire crews and emergency medical personnel arrived and provided medical attention to the victim, the release said.

Investigators said the victim was outside walking toward the location when another man shot him.

“We can share that both the victim and the suspect in this case are adult males, and it is believed that they know each other,” the release said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, police said.

“Patrol officers along with our Directed Response Unit are working on the identity of the suspect,” the release said.

Multiple 911 callers reported hearing at least one gunshot outside while the mall was crowded with Christmas shoppers, the Associated Press reported.
