Metra BNSF train strikes vehicle in Hinsdale, woman injured

Trains are moving again after a Metra BNSF line train hit a vehicle near Hinsdale on Monday.

An inbound train hit a vehicle at the Monroe Street crossing around noon, a Metra spokesperson told the Sun-Times.

A woman was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash and suffered minor injuries, the spokesperson said.

The crash halted inbound and outbound trains until about 1:15 p.m., Metra said. Rush hours Monday evening should not be impacted, Metra said.
