Chicanos Por La Causa’s longest-running program, Angeles del Barrio celebrated its 57th year of giving back to the community.
This year, Angeles del Barrio handed out 260 presents and 40 booster seats to families at CPLC Parenting Arizona’s Guadalupe Family Resource Center during a special holiday event.
Families enjoyed various holiday festivities, including Santa reading a book to the group, taking family photos, ornament making, and connecting to community resources.
“It means everything to us to celebrate the holidays with the families we serve. For many children, this is the only gift they get,” said Mario Ramirez, CPLC Parenting Arizona Community Based Program Manager in a statement.
Nearly 40 volunteers and staff came together to support the holiday celebration.
CPLC Parenting Arizona supports families with children aged 0 to 5 years old with education and activities that support quality bonding. It operates the Guadalupe Family Resource Center, connecting the surrounding Guadalupe, Tempe, Ahwatukee, and nearby communities with free parenting classes and workshops, hearing and vision sensory screenings, and a parent resource center that connects caregivers to essential resources.
“Our program loves to see the smiles of every child who comes through our door and builds strong families,” Ramirez said in a statement.
