The Philadelphia Eagles suffered another brutal loss on Monday night — and in the process, their chances at securing the NFC’s No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs were all but put to rest.

The Eagles are now 8-5 after suffering their third loss in a row, this time in overtime against the Los Angeles Chargers in front of a national “Monday Night Football” audience.

Everyone watching saw that Jalen Hurts, Kevin Patullo and the Eagles are a far cry from the NFC’s best team. The numbers bear that out, too.

The Eagles have a less than 1% chance to secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC postseason, according to The Athletic’s updated projection model.

The Los Angeles Rams (10-3) lead the way with a 48% chance at the first-round bye and home-field advantage. Behind them are the Seattle Seahawks (10-3, 28%), followed by the Green Bay Packers (9-3-1, 10%), San Francisco 49ers (9-4, 8%) and Chicago Bears (9-4, 4%).

The good news is the Eagles have a 92% chance to win the NFC East and make the playoffs, according to The Athletic’s model.

Philadelphia’s magic number — combined Eagles wins and Dallas Cowboys losses — is three to clinch the division. It would be the first time since 2004 that a team won back-to-back NFC East crowns.

The Eagles also have the third-easiest schedule the rest of the way, according to Tankathon.

The Birds face the Las Vegas Raiders (2-11) on Sunday with two games against the Washington Commanders (3-10) and a trip to face the Buffalo Bills (9-4) coming up.

The problem is, the Eagles haven’t given anyone confidence that they’ll finish the season strong — or do anything of note in the playoffs if/when they make it.

Perhaps they can get some momentum going when they host the Raiders on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field. If not, get ready for more booing.
