Self-help guru, motivational speaker and spiritual pseudo-science author Esther Hicks is selling her opulent estate in San Antonio’s Terrell Hills for $3.9 million, county property records show.

And, yes, it’s just as over-the-top as you might imagine.

Long before even entering the home, the guest approaches a facade so grandiose, it conveys the sense of entering a temple.

Indeed, that is likely the idea. Hicks bought the home in 2020 after selling her $3.1 million Broadway penthouse, property records indicate.

Hicks became famous for her workshops on the law of attraction, which she spoke about in the 2006 movie The Secret, which helped propel her and husband Jerry Hicks to fame and fortune. Hicks is also famous for purportedly channeling a collective consciousness, whom she calls Abraham. In speaking engagements, when Abraham takes over, Hicks takes on a different accent and tone of voice.

Every inch of the guru’s 8,320-square-foot Terrell Hills mansion is laden with her personality, including a dramatic gothic front interior door, grand columns and countless chandeliers. A sitting room has magic symbology on one wall, a giant painting of the moon on the opposite wall, and a star-painted ceiling so elaborate, it imbues the room with the old-world opulence of a cathedral. Arched cathedral windows further add to the sanctity of the space.

Throughout other rooms, a sense of neo-spiritualism is conveyed by blending religious iconography and relics imported from various cultures around the world. Indian woodworking and design details fill the primary suite’s bedroom, while its bathroom features a circular stained-glass cathedral window over the standalone tub, harkening to catholic iconography.

Mirrors in the monastic bathroom also echo the shapes of arched cathedral windows, though the crystal chandelier makes it anything but ascetic. Hicks does have a net worth of $13 million, after all, according to a recent list of the nation’s wealthiest personal-development gurus.

The great room is another jaw-dropper. It boasts soaring two-story high ceilings, once again mixing traditions with a mosque-like archway entrance and an ornate Tudor fireplace carved with knights. Outside on the sprawling grounds, themed gardens further add to the enchantment.

It seems the “law of attraction” has served Esther Hicks well.
