Blue Angels visit NAS Jacksonville to share details about next year’s air show

  • December 17, 2025

NAS JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two members of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels arrived at the Naval Air Station Jacksonville on Wednesday morning to discuss next year’s air show.

Wednesday’s pre-season air show visit came almost two months after the Navy’s elite flight demonstration team had to cancel their performance at the 2025 Sea & Sky Air Show in Jacksonville Beach because of the government shutdown.

Watching the Blue Angels perform has become a tradition in Jacksonville.

They’re scheduled to headline the NAS JAX Air Show in October, which will mark the team’s 71st anniversary of performing at this event.

Last October, the Blue Angels were supposed to fly at the Sea & Sky Air Show in Jacksonville Beach, but the team canceled that appearance—along with several others nationwide—due to the federal government shutdown.

The city announced the cancellation the day before the event, which also impacted other military performers like the Viper Demo Team.

Organizers added civilian acts, including The Chuters parachute team, to keep the show going.

Last week, the City of Jacksonville’s Office of Sports & Entertainment, working with Naval Station Mayport and the City of Jacksonville Beach, announced the Jacksonville Sea & Sky Air Show will return in 2027, and will also include an appearance by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

The 2027 national air show calendar was released at the International Council of Air Shows in Las Vegas. The Sea & Sky event will take place along the coastline of Jacksonville Beach and will feature a mix of military and civilian performers.

On Wednesday, Lt. Ronny Hafeza, Blue Angel #7, and Lt. Cmdr. Lilly Montana, Blue Angel #8, will discuss more details for the upcoming NAS JAX Air Show, including dates, lineup, and what fans can expect.

News4JAX will ask the crew about last year’s cancellation and how they’re preparing for their big return.

The NAS JAX Air Show is set for Oct. 17 and 18 of next year.
