When winter break comes, school lets out and in between the holidays, many families look for ways to keep their kids entertained—and this year, the Philly Circus School is here to help with that.
Beginning Dec. 24 (and continuing on Dec. 26 through Jan. 2 sans New Year’s Day), kiddos can head to the Mt. Airy campus for workshops to learn circus skills like aerial sling, static trapeze, wire walking, juggling, plate spinning, rolling globe, tumbling, clowning and more. No experience or PSCA enrollment is required for these fun and creative classes, and camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on those select days.
Classes are $95 per day, and as a release notes, for parents hosting family or managing holiday errands and work, flexible care options make the day even easier when enrolled with After Care (3 to 6 p.m.) for $35 a day and Extended Care (6 to 7 p.m.) for $15 a day. Registration is available online, and this particular set of workshops is said to work for kindergarteners through 7th grade.
The Philly Circus School is also offering a one-of-a-kind New Year’s Eve Circus Workshop for anyone ages 5 and up. For those who head there on the last day of 2025, you’ll get to try your hand at different circus arts, from juggling and acrobatics to aerial sling and tightrope walking. Expert instructors will guide everyone through hands-on activities in a safe, encouraging environment, and the Circus School says this is perfect for families, friends, and anyone looking to start the new year with a twist. Then, at noon, a special “drop” will be performed by a group of aerialists who will descend dramatically from the sky.
The New Year’s Eve class runs for $20 and begins at 10:45 a.m.; spectators are also welcome for the affair. Anyone can register for the experience at the Philly Circus School’s campus (6452 Greene St.) online at phillycircus.com
