A 12-year-old boy was stabbed on a Brooklyn street in a mid-afternoon burst of violence Thursday, police said.
The pre-teen was knifed in the chest at Thomas S. Boyland Street and Dumont Ave. in Brownsville minutes before 3 p.m., cops said.
He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition, authorities said.

No suspects were immediately identified and an investigation was ongoing, the NYPD said.
The stabbing took place at around dismissal, and while there are multiple schools within a few blocks, it wasn’t immediately clear if the boy was coming from classes at the time.
Betsy Head Park, which includes a playground, swimming complex and sports fields, is located at that intersection.
