On August 27, 1951, Elder George LeRoy Battle Jr was born and entrusted by God to his late parents George L. Battle Sr. and Barbara Jean Gibson in Omaha, Nebraska! As a committed servant in the Lord’s Army, George Jr. feverishly marched to the beat of his own drums until he took his last breath. When George Jr. was 9 years old his mother remarried Air Force veteran, Clifford James, the man he’d call dad. George alongside his mom and younger sister Victoria travelled the country living on numerous Air Force bases before his dad was sent to the Vietnam War. Following the war his family returned to Omaha, Nebraska where he would complete his senior year at North Omaha High School, Class of 1969. After high school, he moved to New York to attend Storm Preparatory Academy as a member of their competitive diving and wrestling team. He later received a scholarship through the Warren Buffet Foundation to attend Creighton University, where he received his B.A in Theology and Psychology, Class of 1976. He also received his license in drug and alcohol treatment (LCDC – NE).
