Fort Worth is about to make it easier and safer to move about the All Saints’ Episcopal School campus in west Fort Worth.
The Fort Worth City Plan Commission on Nov. 21 approved an All Saints’ request to vacate part of Normandale Street that serves as a private driveway to the school campus.
Nick Powell, a senior discipline lead for the Dunaway engineering firm, which is representing All Saints’, told commissioners that the school has experienced security issues due to drivers gaining access to the road who don’t have a reason to be on campus.

“We’re looking to take control of their roadway to better secure the campus,” Powell told the commission.
The commission voted 6-0 to refer the case to the Fort Worth City Council for final approval.
Vacation is the process by which the city relinquishes its rights to roadway, which then reverts the property to the adjacent owner.
The school owns the property on either end of Normandale Street between Saints Circle and Alemeda Street.
Powell committed to work with appropriate city departments to ensure adequate easements are maintained for utilities that run in the street.
All Saints’ was founded in 1951. It will commemorate its 75th anniversary in April 2026 with a “Night for Navy Sapphire Celebration” at the Omni Hotel Fort Worth.
