Suspect in custody after La Crosse Police respond to gunshots in downtown area

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) – On Sunday, just after 2:40 a.m., La Crosse Police responded to the area of 300 3rd Street South for reports of gunshots.

No one was injured, however, one person reported the window to their vehicle was struck as they were leaving the area.

Officers identified 21-year-old Dominic L. Janzen as the suspect. He was located in a nearby residence, taken into custody and transported to the La Crosse County Jail.

La Crosse Police are recommending Janzen be charged with 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.

The police department said this appears to be an isolated incident. An investigation is ongoing.
