PHOENIX (AZFamily) — One person is in custody after leading police on a chase that started in the Valley, crossed county lines and ended on reservation land.
The chase began around 1 a.m. on Tuesday when Phoenix police officers tried to stop a car in the Maryvale neighborhood. The car sped away through Phoenix, taking Interstate 10 east to Pinal County.
The car eventually came to a stop on the Loop 202 Red Mountain freeway near Mesa Drive. The driver got out and ran, leading officers on a foot chase.
Phoenix Police said the suspect was arrested on reservation land. The charges that the suspect will face are unclear.
Police have not yet said why they were trying to stop the car. Arizona’s Family has reached out to Phoenix Police for more information.
