Arsenal enjoyed one of their busiest summer transfer windows ever when they spent more than £250million on eight different players. That could not be more different to the upcoming January transfer window.

football.london understands that the club is not anticipating further significant investment. While the club will always be looking to take advantage of any potential opportunities that emerge if financially viable, the club’s summer forays in the market have been restricted considerably.

Before their move for Eberechi Eze, there was already a consciousness of the club’s compliance with UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations. However, the injury to Kai Havertz prompted the club to act and invest despite some internal concern.

Andrea Berta was smartly able to navigate a loan move for Piero Hincapie too, but only as a result of Jakub Kiwior joining FC Porto on loan. There are two Premier League loan spots available to the club; however, finding a player of the requisite quality is certainly a challenge.

Ethan Nwaneri is a player who football.london understands is being monitored by many of Europe’s top clubs, particularly in England and Germany. The player was believed to be close to an exit in the summer, but in the end, the club was successful in convincing him to sign a new deal. The 18-year-old remains on the outskirts of regular minutes.

If he does not get more chances, especially with games against Portsmouth and Kairat Almaty to come, then the chances of a loan either this winter or next summer have become much more likely.

Selling has been an aspect of Berta’s regime, which is yet to be truly tested or scrutinised. That said, the chance of any major departures appears to be unlikely at this stage.
