ORANGE PARK – Members of the Psi Mu Nu Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, in coordination with Clay County District Schools’ Community Partnership Schools (CPS), delivered 45 food baskets to families in need on Saturday, Dec. 20.
The drive-thru event was held in the Orange Park High parking lot, and fraternity members eagerly loaded bags of food filled with supplies gathered through fundraising events and donations from Waste Not Want Not.
“Everybody works together in full force out here to support our families in the community,” said Marcus Smith.
The fraternity and CPS stressed their programs aren’t just for the Orange Park area.
“We are beyond Orange Park,” said Orange Park High CPS Director Ericka Gilbert. “We served everyone in the area, including West Duval.”
Each recipient received a turkey and food to last through the Christmas break.
