On the morning of Dec. 24, Bexar County Deputies were called to the scene of a reported shooting in Far West Bexar County.

When they arrived at the home on the 100 block of Mallow Drive, they discovered Gomez with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies then arrested 36-year-old Courtney Renee Hooper on murder charges.

She was in a dating relationship with the victim, and an argument over a car and a cellphone escalated into a shooting, according to Sheriff Salazar.

According to Sheriff Salazar, Hooper provided deputies with a video that she thought would exonerate her, but Sheriff Salazar says the video just made her look more guilty.
