A historic Jacksonville neighborhood is about to get sweeter as an international Greek doughnut shop chain expands to its second U.S. location.
Lukumades plans to open at 1020 Park St. in Five Points. An eye-catching “Opening Soon” sign, along with another proclaiming “The World’s Most Unique Doughnut,” covers the front windows of the storefront.
The doughnut shop is in the permitting process to open in the roughly 1,020-square-foot space. The estimated cost of converting the space to a doughnut and coffee shop is $300,000, according to Building Inspection Division records.
Lukumades aims for a Spring 2026 debut in Five Points, Jenifer Harmon, executive vice president at St. John, the U.S. marketing agency representing the doughnut chain, told the Times-Union.

A different kind of doughnut
A different kind of doughnut, lukumades are fried dough balls typically served with honey syrup and cinnamon.
The shop offers about 13 different flavors, including The Original — with honey and cinnamon — Glazed and Plain Jane, which is rolled in cinnamon sugar. Other signature flavors listed on the Lukumades website are:

Golden Maple: Maple syrup and crushed Oreos

Kinderella: Melted hazelnut sauce, drizzled milk chocolate and crushed biscuit

Love U So Matcha: Matcha-infused ball with white chocolate

Bougatsa: Filled with custard and topped with cinnamon and icing sugar

Lotus Crunch: Melted Biscoff with Lotus crushed biscuits

Jam It: Filled with strawberry jam and rolled in cinnamon sugar
Also on the menu are gelato, coffee, milkshakes and refreshers.
The chain opened its first U.S. location in May 2024 at 504 1st St. N. in Jacksonville Beach.
Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, the chain has at least 22 locations worldwide, spanning Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan and Singapore.
In Five Points, it’s taking over the space most recently used by Motion Sweets, a gourmet dessert shop. Before that, the space previously hosted Me, Myself & Pies, Spot 5 On Park, and Nest Living.

Lukumades will be three doors down from FIVE, the live music venue that replaced Sun-Ray Cinema in the center of the Five Points restaurant and retail business district.
Harmon said Lukumades will complement FIVE as well as the neighboring shops and restaurants.
“I think the neighborhood is perfect for a doughnut place,” she said.
The doughnut shop will be on the same block as established restaurants such as Hawkers Asian Street Food, Rodrigo’s Craft Pizza, Hoptinger, BREW, Biggies Pizza and 904 Tacos.
