PHOENIX — A person was injured after a fight turned into a shooting in west Phoenix on Friday, authorities said.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the area of 28th Avenue and Lincoln Street for reports of a shooting.

Police said the injury the individual sustained was not life-threatening.

The incident reportedly started as a fight that escalated into a shooting.

In addition, the person told officers that they did not know the shooter.

The shooter remains outstanding, according to Phoenix police.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No other information was provided.
