Families across Brooklyn took full advantage of the holiday break and fresh snowfall, flocking to Prospect Park for a classic snow day filled with sledding, snowball fights and winter fun.

Dozens of children packed one of the park’s hills, racing up and down on sleds and tubes as laughter echoed across the snow-covered landscape. Many said they planned to spend the entire day outside.

“It’s really fun because we’re going sledding and there’s a lot of snow, so it’s hard to walk up here,” said Abigail.

While the kids said they were thrilled to be outside, some noted one small downside — many were already off from school for the holidays, so they didn’t get an extra snow day. Still, that didn’t dampen the excitement.

Families said Prospect Park was the perfect place to enjoy the winter weather and make the most of the holiday break.
