The big question and dilemma for Solo-Agers is shall they live independently in their homes or move into a retirement community. There are advantages to either choice but it’s important to know your options to make the right decision. On Tuesday, Jan. 13, Jonathan Schwartz of Partner in Aging will present a comprehensive talk on “Evaluating Retirement Communities”. The talk will be presented at 6 p.m. at La Colonia Community Center, located at 715 Valley Avenue, Solana Beach.
Schwartz will guide attendees through the key factors families should consider when comparing senior living options, including levels of care, financial structures, contract types, amenities, long-term health needs, and how to spot red flags during tours. With more older adults seeking clarity on when and how to make a move, the presentation aims to empower families with practical, trustworthy tools for making informed decisions, according to a news release.
Founder and partner in Partner in Aging, Schwartz has been dedicated to the field of aging for the past 18 years. He holds a BS degree in entrepreneurship from Indiana University and a MA degree in gerontology from USC. He launched Partner in Aging in 2018.
This presentation is sponsored by Solana Beach Community Connections. It’s free and open to the public.
