Police are investigating what led to the death of a 4-year-old girl in the Bronx.

Officers responding to a 911 call around 09:17 p.m. on Friday found the girl unconscious and in critical condition at a location near Barnes and Adee avenues in Williamsbridge, according to the NYPD. Medics rushed the girl to Jacobi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The medical examiner’s office was looking into what happened to her, according to police.

A spokesperson for the agency didn’t immediately say what the status of their investigation was. Police haven’t made any arrests, and said they were still identifying family members of the child, whose name they did not release.
