A 39-year-old man was killed and another man was injured on Sunday night in an accidental shooting, officials say.
TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — One man was killed and another was injured in a double shooting near Mansfield on Sunday night, officials said.
Deputies responded to a shooting call at around 11:45 p.m. Dec. 28 in the 7800 block of Townsend Road, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement issued Monday morning.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found one man who was shot in the leg and another man who was shot in the foot, officials said.
After deputies “began life saving measures” at the scene, emergency medical services officials took both men to nearby hospitals for further treatment, the sheriff’s department said.
Per officials, the 39-year-old man who was shot in the leg died at the hospital. The man who was shot in the foot, however, was treated and released, the department said.
Officials are investigating the incident, but deputies believe this was likely an accidental shooting, the release stated.
