The uncertainty surrounding Veil Of Maya has gained some clarity, though not the outcome many fans were hoping for. Vocalist Lucas Magyar has confirmed that he is no longer a member of the band.
Magyar’s exit follows a turbulent stretch for the progressive metalcore outfit. In September 2024, the band announced an indefinite hiatus and canceled all remaining tour dates. Later that year, guitarist Marc Okubo joined Falling In Reverse as a touring guitarist. In January 2025, Okubo briefly addressed the band’s future, stating, “When Veil comes back it will be the heavy version.”
Magyar joined Veil Of Maya in 2014 and fronted the band for over a decade, helping guide their shift toward a more melodic sound beginning with Matriarch. Okubo’s comments have since fueled speculation that the band may return to a heavier, more aggressive direction.
At this time, Veil Of Maya have not issued an official statement regarding Magyar’s departure or plans for a new vocalist.
However, Magyar shared the following in response to a comment regarding a question about his former band:
If you do it won’t be with me. I decided to part ways and focus on SIFYN
