At the beginning of the year, I had the feeling that smartwatches were losing their steam. Fossil’s departure from the market was a signal that the era of stylish and affordable models might be coming to an end. But the reality? Completely different. 2025 turned out to be one of the best years for wearable electronics.

It’s hard to buy a bad smartwatch these days. Google has come up with Pixel Watch 4, which finally shows what it should look like Wear OS – ministylish design, great durability and smooth software. Samsung did not lag behind and Galaxy The Watch8 brought a sleek retro touch inspired by the 70s (at least when it comes to the standard model). And then there’s the OnePlus Watch 3, which combines a modern look with a clever dual-chip solution for longer battery life. It’s also worth mentioning Garmin, which has included a Fenix 8 Pro MicroLED introduced this display technology in a smartwatch for the first time.

Apple still leading

As regards Apple, So Apple Watch The Series 11 is simply the best – it has a perfect design and provides the best user experience. But for most people it may be the ideal choice Apple Watch SE 3, because it finally offers an Always-On display, and at a very reasonable price. But it still applies – they are only for iPhones and the battery life nestI swear by power.

For adventurers and athletes

If you are looking for something durable, Galaxy Watch Ultra are built for extreme conditions, but this year they are only slightly better than last year. And for fitness fans, there are the already mentioned Garmin Fenix 8 Pros MicroLED display, which is a technological breakthrough and the only one of its kind so far. So there are still innovations. The traditional brand Casio also introduced its interesting model, in the form of the G-Shock model with Wear BONE.

This is just a quick rundown of what 2025 has brought to the wearables scene. It’s proven that smartwatches aren’t on the decline, quite the opposite! We have more options than ever before, from stylish models to rugged tools for adventurers. And when I look at what’s in store for us in 2026 (yes, Pebble is making a comeback), I feel like this is just the beginning of a new era.
