Officers have set up a perimeter in the 1600 block of Commerce Street and are asking the public to avoid surrounding streets.

DALLAS — Dallas police officers have set up a perimeter in Downtown Dallas after a wanted felon reportedly barricade himself inside a vehicle in the area, officials say.

According to police, officers were called at about 3:45 p.m. to the 1600 block of Commerce Street in response to the situation.

Police are asking the public to avoid the surrounding streets. The situation is still ongoing and active as of 6:20 p.m.
