“Her mother called me and said her daughter had been shot. When we got here, her daughter was on the ground dead,” the victim’s great-great aunt said.
FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating two shooting scenes they say are connected, with one teenager confirmed dead Monday afternoon.
The confirmed fatal shooting happened just before 2:30 p.m. at Stop Six Park off Rosedale Street. Police sources and the family of 17-year-old Cyanna Boone say she was shot at the park and pronounced dead at the scene.
“She’s in the 12th grade,” said Dianna Wilson, Boone’s great-great aunt. “Her mother called me and said her daughter had been shot. When we got here, her daughter was on the ground dead.”
Wilson said the family is already coping with another recent loss.

“I just lost my daughter on the 2nd and buried her on the 13th of November,” she said. “And now my baby CDB — she’s gone now. This is a lot. This is a lot on the family.”
Around the same time of the shooting at Stop Six, police activity shifted to a second scene near Handley Drive and Gary Street, where officers and SWAT focused on a home for several hours. Fort Worth police sources told WFAA the two scenes are connected, though the department has not explained how.
A nearby resident, Lashella Mitchell, said she heard multiple gunshots before police arrived.
“It was just a lot of commotion,” Mitchell said. “A lot of gunshots — about 20.”
Footage from the air showed an abandoned vehicle outside the home and clothing scattered in the street. SWAT officers were later seen entering the residence using a drone. The vehicle was eventually towed away as part of the investigation after officers went through the home.

“Death — that’s it,” Mitchell said. “It’s heartbreaking. It’s the holidays. Just another person gone.”
Back at Stop Six Park, investigators placed yellow evidence markers across the ground.
At this time, Fort Worth police have not confirmed any injuries or deaths at the second location and have not announced any arrests or suspects.
