PHOENIX — A man is dead after a shooting in Phoenix on Monday, and police interviewed a person of interest before releasing him, authorities said.

Officers responded to Montebello Avenue and Seventh Street at 4:45 p.m. Monday to find a man who had been shot.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Phoenix Police Department detectives identified and interviewed another man involved in the incident and released him pending further investigation.

Police provided no other information.
