Thank you for your generosity in 2025. You made a difference in our community.
HOUSTON — Houston gave big in 2025, and KHOU 11’s Stand For Houston community projects helped turn that generosity into scholarships, meals, books and toys for thousands of families.
Below are some of the ways you gave to help others in need.
Investing in students’ futures
In January, KHOU 11 partnered with the Greater Houston Frontiers Club to help raise more than $100,000 in scholarship funds. Those dollars are now opening doors for 50 deserving high school seniors through the MLK Scholarship Fund, turning community generosity into real opportunities for the next generation of leaders.
Turning the page with books
In April, the focus turned to literacy as KHOU 11 joined forces with Books Between Kids for the Turn the Page Book Drive. Together, they provided 30,000 books to 5,000 elementary students, stocking young readers’ shelves and supporting a love of reading that can last a lifetime.
Stepping up in times of crisis
In July, when Central Texas flooding left families reeling, KHOU 11 partnered with TEGNA to help raise more than $1 million for victims. The campaign showed how viewers in the Houston area respond when disaster strikes.
Fighting hunger all year long
As summer ended, KHOU 11 and the Houston Food Bank teamed up for the Backpack Buddy campaign, raising more than $85,000 in August. That support translated into 45,000 meals for children and families, reinforcing a community commitment to fighting hunger even when school is out.
Meeting urgent needs in November
In November, with many families facing food insecurity and uncertainty, KHOU 11 partnered with Kids’ Meals and the Astros Foundation. In just one week, the effort raised more than $30,000, providing 15,000 free, healthy meals for children in the community.
A holiday finale of hope
As 2025 wrapped up, the KHOU 11 Secret Santa Toy Drive capped the year with more than $81,000 in toys and monetary donations for Houston families, helping make the holidays brighter for children across the area. This final push of the year reflected the collective effort of viewers, partners and staff who rallied to support neighbors in need.
