JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (WBMA) — Jacksonville police have arrested a suspect in connection with the Christmas Eve shootout that left four people injured, according to Police Chief Marcus Wood.

Brandon Dandridge, 24, of Talladega, was taken into custody Wednesday evening. He has been charged with second-degree assault, a Class C felony, and is being held on a $20,000 bond. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 29.

The incident occurred last week at a Christmas party in the community room of Hickory Run Apartments. Dandridge was identified as one of the individuals involved in the gunfight and was among those injured.

“We believe this is the first arrest of many,” Chief Wood said. “Investigators have been working nonstop since this happened, and will continue to work until we’re able to obtain warrants for all the other shooters involved.”

Wood also expressed gratitude to the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office and the Talladega County Drug Task Force for their assistance in locating Dandridge.

“We take these kinds of crimes seriously, and we investigate them seriously,” he added. “We recognize our suspects don’t live in Jacksonville, and maybe not even Calhoun County, but we’ll go wherever we need to find them and put a stop to this kind of activity.”
