Salvatore La Rosa started Salvo’s in 2023 as an Italian sandwich pop-up that ran on Instagram — place an order by direct message, and La Rosa would deliver sandwiches via moped (then, a bright blue mini-truck). Recently, Salvo’s opened in a former shoe-repair store in Ridgewood, where La Rosa is now serving soup, sandwiches, and coffee from a stylish, chrome-and-dark wood-filled space. Though the plan is to later serve small plates at night, Salvo’s is, for now, a cozy lunchtime spot, with a sandwich selection that includes classics and more experimental options.
