A search of a vehicle and a property in Heart’s Delight has surrendered items linked to at least three break and enters in the area, including one at the North Atlantic gas station in Whitbourne a few days before Christmas. Evidence uncovered during the search tied the vehicle to the afore-mentioned break-in and identified a suspect.
Items recovered from the home were linked to at least two break and enters in the area.
Whitbourne RCMP arrested Lewis George Hedley Sooley in relation to crimes at Pitcher’s Takeout and Bakery in New Harbour and at the Needs Shell gas station in Green’s Harbour.
He was remanded into custody until his next court date this month.
Police say more charges are anticipated.
