As catastrophic flooding devastated parts of Central Texas over the July Fourth holiday, many Texans have been left grappling with loss, damage, and displacement.
In true Texas spirit, the Fort Worth community is stepping up to help.
The Fort Worth Fire Department and Fort Worth Police Department have joined forces to launch a community donation drive to support flood victims.
The final day to donate is Friday, July 11.
The effort is part of a partnership with the City of Kerrville and The Salvation Army, which will distribute donated supplies to those directly impacted by the flooding.
“Many of our fellow Texans experienced the unfathomable,” the departments said in a joint statement. “It’s in the Texas nature to help our neighbors, and we’re not the type to sit back and watch. We want to take action. Together, we can make a difference.”
