The Watauga Economic Development Corp. approved a design and construction plan for a food truck park at the city’s Capp Smith Park.

Dunaway Associates, the Fort Worth engineering firm, is handling design for the $2.5 million project. It will include parking lot expansion, food truck spaces and infrastructure amenities, performance stage and structure, and improvements to site lighting, picnic area, restroom, and landscape and irrigation.

The Economic Development Corp. voted 5-0 at its Dec. 16 meeting to approve the design and construction plan.

Capp Smith Park has a spring-fed stocked lake and several other amenities: amphitheatre, park benches, playground, splash pad, and restrooms.
