Frank Cairone, the Brewers’ 2025 second round pick, was hospitalized after a serious car accident near his home in New Jersey on Friday, the team announced.
“Frank is currently being cared for at a hospital in New Jersey with the support of his family,” the team said in a statement, via MLB.com. “The Brewers’ thoughts and prayers are with Frank and his family during his difficult time.”
Cairone, a left-handed pitcher, is Milwaukee’s No. 26 overall prospect, per MLB Pipeline.
He was 17 when he was drafted with the No. 68 overall pick out of Delsea Regional High School in Franklinville and chose to forgo his commitment to Coastal Carolina.
Cairone sent the summer and fall at Milwaukee’s complex in Arizona and has not yet made his major league debut.
