UPDATE: Fatal collision on Highway 401 in Northumberland County

A 22-year-old man died in a collision late Saturday night on Highway 401 near Colborne.

Northumberland OPP say emergency crews responded to a collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near Cochrane Road in Cramahe Township around 10:40 p.m.

It was reported that a pedestrian had been struck and a vehicle had been parked closed to the median in the westbound lanes.

A  22-year-old male from Chatham was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Highway 401 between between Big Apple Drive and County Road 30 was closed until about 5 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
