SEPTA has completed repairs in the Trolley Tunnel and began running test trolleys yesterday, according to a recent announcement. The tunnel, which has been closed since mid-November due to overhead wire problems, is now expected to re-open in mid-January. The exact date has not been announced yet as it depends on the completion of testing, according to SEPTA.
Several test trolleys were operating in the tunnel near the 40th Street Trolley Portal and heading west on Woodland Ave (see photo).
While the tunnel remains closed, trolleys will be diverted to 40th and Market, where passengers can board the L train or a T Shuttle Bus running along Market Street between 40th and 15th.
