The New York metro area could get some snow Monday afternoon, though nothing like late December’s snowfall, meteorologists said.
Residents can expect a light dusting to one-tenth of an inch of snow into the evening, according to the National Weather Service.
“Any accumulation should be very minimal,” said Brian Ciemnecki at NWS.
Monday’s temperatures are set to be slightly below average for this time of year, but conditions should heat up beginning Tuesday.
Mid-week highs will be in the mid-to-upper 40s, which NWS said is above normal for early January.
By Friday, there will be a chance of rain, with highs reaching the 50s.
“The warmup is coming,” Ciemnecki said.
