Mickey Rourke may have fallen on hard times, but he’s got several people reaching out to offer help, including director Eric Spade Rivas.

Rivas, who is directing the Scarface spinoff Scarface: Resurrection, has offered Rourke, 73, a cameo in the upcoming film and is willing to pay him $1,000, according to a report from TMZ published on Monday, January 5.

This wouldn’t be the first time Rivas has tried to work with Rourke. According to the outlet, the 9 ½ Weeks star signed on for a role in The Duke of New York, an indie film Rivas was working on in 2020. Rourke was allegedly offered $5,000 for the role, but he ultimately ended up backing out.

Despite their rocky past, Rivas told TMZ that there was no “bad blood” between the two men and even explained that he felt bad about how the situation panned out. Now, he hopes to help Rourke out with a new role in Scarface: Resurrection.

Rivas also said that he wished he could offer Rourke more money for the cameo, but $1,000 is as high as he can go at the moment.

As The National Enquirer previously reported, Rourke recently turned to fans to ask for help in an effort to avoid being evicted from his home in Los Angeles. Liya-Joelle Jones, a member of the Wrestler actor’s management team, started a GoFundMe titled “Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home” on Sunday, January 4.

At the time of publication, the fundraiser has raked in almost $85,000.
