NBC 5, Telemundo 39, and The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL) invite you to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King with a tribute concert. The 43rd Black Music and the Civil Rights Movement Concert will take place on Sunday, January 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.
The Five-Time Lone Star Emmy Award Winning tribute concert is a dramatic and inspiring salute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his efforts during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. Enjoy a night of narration, dance, and music with powerful performances from American Idol finalist Canaan James Hill, Sunday Best and Stellar Award winners Jessica Reedy and Crystal Aikin, and TBAAL’s 100-voice concert choir.
A student morning performance will take place on Friday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. at TBAAL’s temporary home, The Women’s Museum in the historic Fair Park. The public performance with special guests will take place on Sunday, January 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Downtown Dallas.
