PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An award-winning ice cream shop is teaming up with the “Greatest Show on Grass” to debut a brand-new dessert for fans.
Arizona-based ice cream shop Novel Ice Cream is bringing a new, signature green ice cream in honor of the WM Phoenix Open this February. The “WMPO Green Dream” was created exclusively for the tournament, which attracts thousands of fans from around the country and worldwide every year.
“WMPO Green Dream” features mint ice cream with chocolate chips and pretzels, topped with green and yellow candies — signature colors of the tournament. In addition, Novel Ice Cream will donate 20% of all ice cream sales to the WM Phoenix Open Working For Tomorrow FundSM, which supports sustainability-related projects in Arizona.
If fans want to get their hands on the new ice cream flavor, they can head to the WMPO Fan Zone and look for the ice cream truck. Guests can choose between getting a cone, waffle cup, a regular cup or Novel’s signature dessert — the dough melt.
The dough melt stuffs a scoop of your favorite ice cream between a warm, sweet glazed doughnut.

Along with the new ice cream, guests can try a variety of other delicious Novel flavors.
“This collaboration lets us serve up something fun and flavorful while giving back to the community we love. We hope fans feel the joy and purpose behind every bite,” said Shawn Allard, owner of Novel Ice Cream.
Novel was recently ranked the top ice cream shop in the country by Yelp. The shop offers 250 different flavors, but only serve 12 a day, allowing their ice cream chef to make them fresh.
The tournament will be held at TPC Scottsdale on February 3-8. Tickets are on sale now.
