PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A child has been rushed to the hospital after a reported shooting at a south Phoenix townhome on Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at the Somo Lofts near 32nd Street and Broadway Road shortly after 12:30 p.m. Details remain limited at this time, but a police spokesperson confirmed that a child was shot in the face.
The child, whose age hasn’t been released, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An Arizona’s Family drone operator witnessed a heavy law enforcement presence as multiple Phoenix police SUVs surrounded the complex. Crime scene tape is blocking most of the road as authorities sweep the area.
The circumstances of the shooting have not been released, but police don’t believe the child’s injuries are life-threatening. The investigation remains ongoing.
