Listen to the sounds of various livestock and feel a gust of wind as cowboys rush by as you immerse yourself in cowboy culture at this year’s Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. It is 23 days full of livestock shows, contests, rodeos, live music, carnival rides, shopping and more, all happening at the Will Rogers Memorial Center and Dickies Arena.
The fun kicks off on Jan. 16, when working cowboys will compete in seven exciting events at the Best of the West Ranch Rodeo.
The following morning at 11 a.m., the “All Western” Parade will be hoofing its way through downtown Fort Worth, featuring over 2,000 horses, marching bands and floats.
Another highlight is the livestock show, where children show off their animals and skills in raising livestock. Other competitions include agricultural mechanics, the high school barbecue competition and shooting.
