Veterinarians gathering in Chicago this week are sharing timely advice for pet owners, especially families who welcomed new pets over the holidays.
Dr. Michael Q. Bailey, president of the American Veterinary Medical Association, says winter pet care starts with daily exercise, protecting paws from cold surfaces and salt, and limiting time outdoors during extreme temperatures.
The tips come as veterinarians from across the country attend the Veterinary Leadership Conference, which also includes a service project donating pet beds and enrichment items to Anti-Cruelty Chicago.
