Jennifer Aniston has a big year ahead.
The Friends alum, 56, will star in and executive produce the Apple TV adaptation of Jennette McCurdy’s memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died — and a source exclusively tells Star she’s “fully committed to making her biggest transformation yet” for the upcoming project.
The streamer announced last year that Aniston is attached to star as a fictionalized version of the 33-year-old iCarly alum’s controlling mother Debra, who died from cancer in 2013.
McCurdy’s 2022 memoir, which is based on her one-woman show of the same name, sold out at many major retailers within 24 hours of its release and charts her career as a child actress as well as her strained relationship with her mother.

“The book was a massive hit, and AppleTV is ready to spend tens of millions of dollars to make the miniseries adaptation hit even bigger,” the source says, adding that McCurdy hand-picked the Emmy Award-winning A-lister to play her late mom.
According to the source, Aniston is hoping to squeeze in the project “before she makes the next season of The Morning Show,” the well-received Apple TV newsroom drama in which she costars with Reese Witherspoon.
However, the source points out, “that’s easier said than done because of [the show’s] giant cast and their crazy schedules, including Reese Witherspoon who is getting pulled in a million directions constantly.”

Regardless of the timing, Aniston seems to be at ease these days ever since going public with her new boyfriend, Jim Curtis, in November.
The source reveals “she is obsessed with this man” and is feeling optimistic with the hypnotherapist “by her side.”
“For the first time in her life, Jen isn’t being driven by fear,” the source adds. “She’s being driven by true love.”
