For a family whose child is receiving medical treatment, shopping for the holidays is often the last thing on their busy to-do list. This reality can weigh heavily on families who still want to make the holidays special for their children.
On Thursday, Dec. 18, with support from BJ’s Wholesale Club, Nemours Children’s Health, Jacksonville, hosted an Elf Workshop event where patients and their siblings visiting the outpatient clinic received special holiday gifts. BJ’s team members were on hand to distribute toys to families.
In addition, during the event, BJ’s Wholesale Club presented a $22,800 check to help provide toys and food boxes for families in need. Each box contains a week’s worth of food. This year, BJ’s Wholesale Club donated a total of $117,000 to Nemours Children’s Health across Florida and Delaware.
