A 25-year-old man from Mississauga is facing charges after allegedly exploiting and trafficking a woman for sex throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Peel Regional Police say they launched an investigation in November, after learning of allegations that the accused coerced, manipulated and used physical violence to maintain control over her while profiting from the exploitation.
Police arrested Hasan (also know as Hassan) Ahmed on Dec. 18, and charged him with numerous offences including assault, trafficking in persons and advertising sexual services.
The charges have not been tested in court.
Investigators believe there may be more victims and urge anyone with additional information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
