Former Falling In Reverse guitarist/vocalist Max Georgiev has issued a follow-up statement in response to recent claims that he was fired from the aforementioned band for allegedly dating a minor in the past. Falling In Reverse vocalist Ronnie Radke went public with those claims against Georgiev on social media recently, stating:
“For those that are wondering why I fired @maxgeorgiev the guitarist, it’s because he admitted to sleeping with a minor 10 years before he was in my band when he was 27 years old. Have fun with that”
Georgiev took to social media himself this past Tuesday, January 06th to issue the following statement in response:
“To the fans,
I have never done anything illegal with a minor. Fifteen years ago, when I was 23, I still lived in Quebec, Canada.
Since then, I have played for several bands who never mentioned inappropriate behavior on my part.
I have always had great respect for the fans. I have strived to play my heart out for you.”
In a livestreamed video that followed, Radke pushed back against Georgiev‘s claims, stating:
“This man not only did that, [but] the parents of the minor — 10 years before he was in my band — found out, they confronted him, he lied about his age so he could continue doing that with her. He wasn’t 23, he was older. He’s lying about that.”
Now, in a newly shared statement made today, January 08th, Georgiev offered:
“Anyone who believes that I was physically involved with a minor at age 27 while having no concrete evidence of it is delusional.
I met someone who turned eighteen a few months later while I occasionally dated her. This was fifteen years ago, when I was 23 in Quebec, Canada.
Her parents never confronted me because the girl only had a mother. I never lied to her or her daughter about anything.
However, perhaps this is the underlying reason why I was fired:
By April of 2024, it was time for me to leave FIR. I took the initiative to learn nine songs of another band. Swipe for the next video and the date. See playlists on my YouTube channel.”
The evidence Georgiev provided included a video footage of a handwritten book of musical notation for the band Disturbed and uploads of several videos of himself playing guitars for their songs in a Google drive folder created on May 06th, 2024. Falling In Reverse had toured with Disturbed in the opening months of that year. The age of consent in Quebec, Canada, where Georgiev says he resided at the time, is 16 years of age.
Georgiev himself has recently been pursuing a solo career with his latest output “Believe In You” arriving online last month.
